Child Care Education Institute is approved by the Washington State Training and Registry System (STARS) to conduct STARS Continuing Education training. Every calendar year after meeting the 30-hour basic training requirement, child care providers must take 10 hours of approved continuing education training. Training must include approved annual infant safe sleep training when licensed to care for infants. For directors and program supervisors, five (5) of the 10 hours must be in program management and administration for the first two (2) years in their respective positions. After that, three (3) of the required 10 hours must be in program management and administration. ChildCare Education Institute’s CDA Program may be used to fulfill the education requirements for the CDA National Credentialing Program required by the Council for Professional Recognition.
