CCEI Offers ‘Parent Communication’ Course at No Cost During “National Parent Leadership Month”

Duluth, GA/ February 1, 2012 – ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), an IACET approved, nationally accredited, distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care and education workforce, offers new users the trial course CCEI520 – Parent Communication: Building Partners in the Educational Process at no cost in February in recognition of National Parent Leadership Month.

Parents, early educators, caregivers, and administrators are constantly searching for effective ways to prepare young children for future academic achievement. However, one of the most important factors in a child’s success is often overlooked: open communication between parents and educators. This course is intended to help educators and parents build successful partnerships through the use of positive listening and speaking skills; effective nonverbal, verbal and written skills; and methods for overcoming communication barriers. Participants will receive 0.1 CEU and the ability to print and/or save their documentation immediately upon course completion.

“Many issues that arise in the early childhood environment can be addressed through communication with parents,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “With the tight schedules many of us maintain, we often fail to utilize one another in the education process. But strong communication and cooperation with parents is essential, because it can reinforce the classroom curriculum and improve the parent-child relationship by keeping parents further informed and involved.”

CCEI520 is available at no cost to account holders with an active, annual individual or center-based subscription. Without a subscription, this course may be purchased individually through online enrollment at www.cceionline.edu.
