Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States with over half a million American lives taken annually. While some contributors to heart disease, such as genetics, cannot be avoided, a variety of risk factors can be combated with proper nutrition and fitness choices. CCEI has maintained a focus on child care training that instills healthy habits in early childhood settings in order to contribute to children’s long-term personal success and overall wellness. These courses include Fit for Life; Healthy Habits: Nutrition and Fitness Practices; Motor Development and Fitness in Early Childhood; Early Childhood Obesity; and many more. Online courses and their descriptions are viewable in the child care training course catalog.

“CCEI has a variety of resources to assist early education professionals with overturning our nation’s rates of heart disease,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “With these resources in place, we have a heightened opportunity to improve the long-term health of children.”
