Penn Foster and ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI) Announce Articulation Agreement

Penn Foster, a leader in career-focused online and hybrid education designed to address the skills gap in America, and ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), a nationally accredited distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care industry, today announced an articulation agreement that allows students from CCEI to transfer credits toward degrees at Penn Foster.

Students who successfully complete the CCEI Early Childhood Credential, CCEI Online Instructor Supported CDA, or the Online Self-Study CDA certificate programs can articulate three transfer credits toward the Penn Foster College Associate of Science Degree Program in Early Childhood Education. A total of three credits will be awarded toward one core elective.

In addition, students who successfully complete the CCEI Director Certificate, Family Child Care Certificate and the Infant-Toddler Certificate programs of study can articulate three transfer credits toward the Penn Foster College Associate of Science Degree Program in Early Childhood Education. A total of three credits will be awarded toward one core elective.

“In today’s education world, there is an increasing push for early childhood educators to improve their knowledge and skills,” said Maria Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This articulation agreement with Penn Foster College supports educators in their quest for increased knowledge of early childhood development. CCEI and Penn Foster share industry leading accreditations with IACET and DETC, which made an articulation agreement a natural partnership.”

Penn Foster also shares CCEI’s commitment to offering a flexible approach to online education. Through its affordable online programs, Penn Foster students complete their courses on their own time, with 24/7 access to a supportive online community of students and faculty.

“Through this agreement, Penn Foster and CCEI can provide their students with the knowledge they need to enter the growing early childhood education job market,” said Frank Britt, CEO of Penn Foster. “Penn Foster looks forward to expanding its collaborative online community with the addition of CCEI students, who bring their own unique skills and perspectives to our degree programs.”
