Learn how to Improve Young Children’s Speaking and Listening Skills with CCEI

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers CHD101: Promoting Speaking and Listening Skills as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of June.

Literacy experts have determined that one of the most effective ways to increase school readiness is to improve children’s speaking and listening skills, which are the basic building blocks of literacy and future academic achievement. This course emphasizes the central role of speaking and listening skills in the development of communication and early literacy skills. Through successful completion of this course, participants will recognize the direct relationship between a child’s communication skills and the language the child experiences at home and in school.

“Effective communication skills are a basic, but important necessity for all young children” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course focuses on developing positive speaking and listening skills for young children, while also providing important tips and information to support the many phases of communication development.”

This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in June. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
