ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers HLTH103: Fit For Life as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of February.
Physical fitness is the ability to perform daily tasks vigorously and alertly, with energy left over for enjoying leisure-time activities and meeting emergency demands. Since children form healthy habits early in life, educators can teach children about the importance of physical activity and fitness during the years when they are the most impressionable. This course provides strategies and methods to improve physical fitness and incorporate movement activities across the early childhood curriculum. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify exercises to reduce body fat, define the five fitness factors, identify characteristics of effective exercise in the early childhood environment, and more.
“Physical fitness for young children is an important issue in which early care providers can have a significant impact,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course will help childcare providers create an active and rewarding learning environment, while also helping to improve the long-term health of children.”
This two-hour training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in February. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
