January 2022 Student Spotlight – Laura Argroves

I began my career in early childhood education at the age of eighteen years old as I was attending Anderson University in Pendleton, South Carolina.  I have been teaching for fourteen years and have had so many wonderful memories!

I have completed several professional development training courses through ChildCare Education Institute and have found the content very informative.  The Director’s Certificate is the first certification program I have completed with CCEI and I absolutely loved the process!   My education coach was incredible throughout the program and I am thankful for her support.  She cares for her students and truly wants them to succeed in the goals they are striving for.  I am very appreciative to CCEI and all the support in helping to reach my goals!

My favorite time of the day to spend with the children is morning circle time.  I love starting the day with their smiling faces eager to learn.  I love watching a child mimic a behavior of something I have taught them.  This also motivates me to continue to work with children as I see first hand how I directly impact the child’s educational experience.  What I enjoy the most about educating children is seeing the outcome such as milestones they achieve that they haven’t been able to do before.

I currently live in Cumming, Georgia where I reside with my husband, Jeff, and dog Champ.  In my free time, I enjoy traveling to local places with my husband and decorating.  In the future, I would love to become see a director at my current preschool.  I’m currently an assistant director and love every minute of it.

I do want to receive more credentials from CCEI as the sky is the limit and education is always evolving.  I would recommend CCEI to anyone in my field as it has many programs with so much support which allows nothing but success for each student.
