CCEI Is an Approved Provider of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credit in Texas

ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), an accredited, distance learning institution, announces that the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Division of Educator Standards, and State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) have approved CCEI to provide Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit for educators in the state of Texas.

Public school educators employed in the state of Texas are required to fulfill a minimum number of CPE training clock hours from an approved CPE provider in order to renew their standard educator certificate every five years. CCEI allows educators in a variety of roles to obtain CPE training online and meets all of the provider documentation and reporting requirements of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Rule ยง232.872. The approvals and registration with the TEA and SBEC ensure that activities offered for CPE credit support the professional growth of educators in the knowledge and skills necessary to improve student achievement in Texas public schools. Only CPE activities from approved registered providers, such as CCEI, will be recognized for certificate renewals.

CCEI offers a variety of online certificate programs of study and 100+ online child care training courses to help educators meet CPE requirements. Training hours are available for individual purchase, or through an individual, annual online training subscription that provides unlimited access for one full year. Contact CCEI for details.

“It’s been a common goal of ours to raise standards of quality in continuing education for child care staff, and Texas is considered a leader in this ongoing effort,” said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “For many years, CCEI has proudly served Texas early care providers, and we are delighted to be approved to serve the training needs of public school professionals as well.”
