CCEI Awards Early Childhood Credentials

ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), an accredited, distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care industry, is proud to announce its first recipients of the CCEI Online Early Childhood Credential (ECC).

The first recipient to complete CCEI’s online ECC program is Lori Tyner of Montana. Upon completion of her program, Tyner used her ECC to satisfy requirements of the Council for Professional Recognition’s Child Development Associate® (CDA) National Credentialing Program™.

Tyner explains, “The fact that I now have my CDA and can continue to teach my little ones is the most rewarding thing that I have gained from this experience. I did learn a great deal throughout the course that has helped me, especially in my new assistant teacher position. I would recommend this program to other early childhood educators because I feel I have had a very positive experience with it.”

Other recent recipients of CCEI’s ECC include Michele Conklin of New York, two early child care practitioners from Montana, and one from Georgia.

CCEI’s ECC program is designed to give a basic framework of early childhood theory and application of that theory through content-based coursework, reading assignments, practical application exercises, essays and classroom observation. Graduates of CCEI’s Online Early Childhood Credential (ECC) meet all training, portfolio, and observation requirements of the national CDA Credential and only need to complete the Council’s exam at a PearsonVue testing center to finalize the CDA Credential application process. The CCEI Early Childhood Credential also gives students the opportunity to articulate college credit toward an early childhood degree with one of CCEI’s college credit partners. Additionally, holders of the CCEI Early Childhood Credential are considered qualified for Head Start positions that require a minimum or a CDA or other certificate.

“The increasing requirements on the child care industry are creating a demand for more thorough, in-depth solutions to education qualifications,” said Maria Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “We’re immensely proud of our graduates, and will continue to expand the skills and potential opportunities of ECE practitioners through CCEI’s online research-based coursework.”
