ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers HLTH104: Basic Health and Hygiene Practices for the Early Childhood Setting as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of December.
Good hygiene in early child care settings is essential for reducing the risk of infection between children and adults, and helps young children develop healthy habits that they will use throughout their lives. This course provides basic information everyone should know about preventing the spread of infectious diseases in the child care setting. Participants will learn about various types of pathogens and how they are spread, along with recommended hygiene practices, how to recognize signs and symptoms of disease, immunization policies, criteria for excluding a child from group care, communicating with families regarding disease, and maintaining a clean environment.
“Preventing the spread of infection in the classroom is a challenge that all early child care providers face on a regular basis” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course offers detailed information to help directors and staff members follow basic hygienic practices, and promote a safe and clean environment for children.”
This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in December. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
