CCEI Offers Online Training for Successful Transitions in Afterschool Programs

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers SCH104: Successful Transitions with School-Aged Children as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of July..

School transitions can be tough for parents, children, and teachers alike. While experience helps to ease transitions, change can still be stressful. This course presents recommended strategies and practices for easing different types of transitions in the school-age care environment. This includes transitions from one setting or activity to another as well as life’s many other transitions, some of which arise unexpectedly. The cognitive and social-emotional skills required for successful classroom transitions are surprisingly similar to those required for making healthy, positive transitions through life’s many changes and surprises.

“Transitions in any phase of life can be challenging, especially when it comes to school-age students,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course focuses on the emotional development of children in afterschool care, and provides key information for those working in those settings to assist in the positive growth of young students.”

This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in July. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
