CCEI550: Cool cooking explores cooking as a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom activity. Young chefs do not need sharp knives or hot pans to enjoy all the benefits of cooking in the early childhood curriculum, including nutrition and health knowledge and wide range of early science and self-help skills. Cooking develops sensory skills, as well as a sense of autonomy and confidence. Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to describe objectives for cooking activities and identify appropriate methods for integrating cooking activities in the preschool classroom.
