ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), an online child care training provider dedicated exclusively to the early care and education workforce, offers new and existing users access to LIT100: Storytelling for Enrichment, Early Literacy, and Fun! at no cost during the Week of the Young Child (WOYC).
The Week of the Young Child was introduced by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 1971. This year’s theme is “Early Years are Learning Years.” WOYC is celebrated for one week each April to focus on bettering young children’s lives and learning experiences. CCEI supports WOYC by offering a new course, LIT100, at no cost. Through storytelling, educators can forge strong bonds with their students while promoting essential early literacy and communication skills.
“We’re pleased to provide this training at no-cost during the Week of the Young Child in order to inspire richer learning environments for our children. Stories build cultural knowledge and language skills, along with critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “It is also a good opportunity for those who haven’t tried online learning to do so, and experience its benefits.”
Storytelling is a two-hour, intermediate-level course and grants 0.2 IACET CEUs upon successful completion. In order to access this course at no cost, “Like” ChildCare Education Institute on Facebook and locate the WOYC promotion code during the week of April 22 – 28, 2012. Enter the promo code when creating an account on CCEI’s website or by selecting Promotion Registration once logged in to your account.
