Duluth, GA/ May 10, 2011 – ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), a nationally accredited and IACET approved distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care industry, is proud to announce the addition of a new course, The Eco-Friendly Child Care Center, Part 2: Environmental Education and Sustainability.
This new course promotes education and sustainability within early child care settings. A “green” child care program practices sustainability through resource management and waste prevention and reduction. This course includes strategies on creating healthy, safe learning centers for children such as “going green” on a tight budget, incorporating organic foods, and replacing hazardous materials and cleaning agents with environmentally responsible products. These lifestyle choices are reinforced by family involvement, developing a sustainability plan, green certified products, and creating developmentally appropriate activities for children’s participation.
Students can register for this course through their CCEI account. Existing CCEI account holders who do not have an active, annual individual or center-based subscription may purchase this one-hour 0.1 IACET CEU course for $15.
“CCEI has introduced this second eco-friendly course to offer care providers the resources to create safe, healthy, sustainable environments for young children. Positively impacting the environment affects overall wellness for current and future generations,” said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI.
