Engineering Explorations in Early Childhood
This course provides participants with an understanding of how to support young children’s (PreK-2nd grade) learning of engineering and the engineering design process in hands-on, playful, and creative ways. Participants will explore foundational facts about different types of engineers and engineering and learn the Engineering Design Process steps. It will provide examples of teaching and pedagogical approaches, materials, and tools that can be used to foster fun and engaging engineering explorations in early childhood. Participants will also explore best practices for teaching engineering, where to find engineering curriculum resources, and strategies for developing an engineering curriculum for young children.
Environmental and Functional Print
This course, written by well known author Vicki Folds, Ed.D., explains literacy awareness through a print rich environment utilizing environmental and functional print.Students learn how to enrich the preschool classroom using commonly found materials. Word walls and other suggestions are easily adopted into any early childhood program. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to define, compare and contrast environmental and functional print and identify print rich materials.

Individual Annual Subscription
For $99, a child care professional can purchase an Individual Annual Professional Development Subscription. The subscription allows unlimited access to CCEI’s professional development course catalog for the year of the subscription.
Child Care Center-Based Subscription
The Child Care Center-Based Annual Subscription is the most manageable, accessible and cost-effective method for a center to provide its staff with training to meet annual licensing professional development needs. CCEI offers two child care center-based subscriptions:
