This course provides early childhood educators with a deeper understanding of the concept of growth mindset. The course discusses the importance of establishing a growth mindset approach to learning at a young age. Throughout the course, participants are presented with practical strategies they can implement immediately, and over the long term, that will support children as they form growth mindset beliefs and skills.

Well-managed family-teacher conferences strengthen essential partnerships between teachers and families that ultimately benefit our youngest learners. In this course, participants will learn the primary goals of family-teacher conferences along with strategies associated with planning for, conducting, and following up after conferences. In addition, the course will cover recommended practices for sharing assessment results with families, including when and how to make referrals to early intervention agencies.
This course will provide an understanding of childhood stress and will give information, activity ideas, and tools for easing children’s anxieties and worries in the classroom. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to define various sources of stress, identify symptoms, and various methods to help children cope.
This course explores the development of gender identity and stereotypes. Participants will learn how and why gender stereotypes are formed and the ways in which gender stereotyping can impact a child’s psychological and social development. In addition, participants will learn strategies for promoting gender equity and equal opportunity in the classroom.
