Elements of Professionalism Outlined in Online Training Course from CCEI

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers Prof102: Elements of Professionalism as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of March.

The goal of this course is to provide teachers and directors with a greater understanding of what constitutes professionalism in the early childhood industry and how professionalism affects program quality. Profession is defined as a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill. The commitment that an early childhood educator makes is important because it is a helping profession, which means children and families must come first in their professional lives. Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to identify the relationship between center policies and professionalism, define developmentally appropriate practices, and identify roles of a child advocate.

“Professionalism is important in many aspects of life, but especially in the childcare industry” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course provides the tools and resources to help directors and administrators maintain a high level of professionalism and ensure consistency of mission and values throughout their programs.”

This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in March. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
