June 2017 Newsletter Alumni Spotlight – Kasey Widner

I first began my career in early childhood by working at a Summer Camp sponsored by Chick-fil-A. When I arrived home from working camp, I immediately looked for a job in the early childhood field.

When I started my coursework at CCEI, I was a teaching assistant in a pre-kindergarten classroom, but I was recently hired at a local Christian school as a lead VPK teacher. I received my Florida Child Care Professional Credential through CCEI. I am so excited to begin my career and it would not have been possible without the help of CCEI. My next step in my educational pursuit is to receive my Director’s Credential.

My favorite time of day to spend with the children is during music. I love being silly with them and dancing and singing together. Their favorite time of the day is center time. Watching the children learning and growing and discovering the world around them motivates me to work with them. When it comes to my job I feel like I get just as much out of it if not more than the children. I enjoy coming to work each day and seeing each child’s smiling faces. In my free time, I enjoy going to Disney World, going to church, and spending time with my fiancé, John. My current city and state is Bradenton, Florida.

I would absolutely recommend CCEI to anyone who is looking to further their education or career. I have not yet received my national CDA Credential but I plan to in the future. Many of the teachers at my school use CCEI for professional development and renewing their credentials. I also plan on using CCEI to renew my FCCPC. CCEI is so easy to use and convenient.
