New Course from CCEI Provides an Introduction to the Most Recent Revision of ECERS

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, is proud to introduce CUR116: Understanding the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS-3) to the online child care training course catalog.

The ECERS-3 and related scales are tools for measuring the overall quality of an early childhood program. The Environment Rating Scales are commonly used by program monitors, researchers, and center administrators throughout the United States and around the world. This course provides an introduction to the most recent revision of the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) and is intended primarily for early childhood professionals whose programs are or may be subject to quality ratings by program monitors, regulatory agencies, or other formal observers. If you are an early childhood professional, this course will help you understand the basics about what ECERS observers look for during the observation period and how you can use the ECERS as a guide to improve the quality and effectiveness of your program.

“The Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale is a critical and highly regarded tool for measuring the quality of an early childhood program,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “We’re excited to offer this course to stay up to date with the most recent revision of ECERS, and to continue helping early childcare professionals better understand the ECERS guidelines.”
