This course examines the effects of early childhood deprivation, maltreatment and abuse on brain development. Learn ways that early childhood educators can help promote healthy brain development. Upon completing this course, the student will be able to identify the lasting effects of early deprivation and maltreatment, define child maltreatment and recognize the results of research that studies the links between childhood maltreatment and later-life health and well-being. This is an intermediate level course.
