ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers NFS100: Healthy Habits: Nutrition and Fitness Practices as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of February.
Good nutrition is an essential component of quality child care. It’s critical for early childhood providers to provide a solid foundation for positive eating habits, and to encourage the children in their care to taste new foods. This course offers ideas for promoting healthy eating and active play in the early childhood environment. Participants will learn why and how to develop a nutrition policy, strategies for working with families to promote proper nutrition practices at home, and curriculum enrichment ideas for increasing healthy lifestyle choices and reducing obesity.
“Physical fitness and healthy eating habits are important for people of all ages, but especially for young children” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course provides useful tips and information for childcare providers to help children develop healthy eating habits at an early age, while also covering the importance of physical activity in the early care environment.”
This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in February. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
