ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, offers CCEI967: Sensory Learning for All Ages as an online no-cost trial child care training course to new CCEI users during the month of November.
In the early childhood environment, sensory activities require or encourage children to think deliberately about and discuss what they see, hear, smell, touch, or taste. Sensory activities are primary tools for building vocabulary and encouraging experimentation, exploration, and discovery. This course examines sensory experiences in the early childhood classroom and the benefits of these activities for young children. Participants will explore various ways of incorporating sensory learning into everyday activities, enhancing sensory learning centers, and appropriate methods of guidance. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to identify the benefits of sensory learning and strategies for guiding developmentally appropriate sensory learning experiences in the curriculum.
“Sensory learning is one of the earliest and most natural forms of education for young children,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “This course provides key information on sensory learning, while promoting exploration, discovery, and vocabulary building.”
This beginner-level training course is available as a trial course to new users with CCEI account creation in November. Current CCEI users with active, unlimited annual subscriptions can enroll in professional development courses at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account. Users without subscriptions can purchase child care training courses as block hours through CCEI online enrollment.
